I obtained my Undergraduate and Honours degrees at the University of Pretoria and my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Pearson Institute of Higher Education in South Africa.
Throughout my studies, I gained practical experience at New Jerusalem Children’s Home, Thembalami Care Centre, Khula Clinic, Wedge Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Teddy Bear Clinic, and Phelophepa Train.
I completed my one-year internship at the Counselling and Careers Development Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand where my focus was primarily on providing the student population of the University with individual counselling, assessment, career counselling, group work sessions, workshops, and community-based projects.
I further completed and successfully passed my Board Exam as Counselling Psychologist, which is a requirement by The Health Professions Council of South Africa. I am therefore a certified Counselling Psychologist with the HPCSA.
I started my independent practice in 2017, as well as worked as a psychological consultant for Charis Psychological services in a medical setting where I supported patients and their families during the most vulnerable of times, adjusting to their spinal cord or traumatic brain injury.
In March 2021 we as a family immigrated to the Netherlands.
Currently, I am focusing on online sessions with mainly English and Afrikaans speaking clients here in the Netherlands and I have also registered with the NIP board to be recognised as a credible psychologist.
